Our Mission
Our Mission: Music 4 Kidz is a community service project that creates CDs for children who are in the hospital. Music 4 Kidz gives students the opportunity to donate their favorite songs to entertain hospitalized children. Additionally, Music 4 Kidz has a broad youth volunteer base, offering six various volunteer opportunities that allow volunteers to explore interests like public relations, project management, graphic design, and mass communications.
How does Music 4 Kidz work? First, students and teachers develop an interest in Music 4 Kidz from one of the numerous listings on volunteer databases like volunteermatch.org, dosomething.org, and volunteersolutions.org or from a Music 4 Kidz volunteer. Next, students are given the opportunity to donate $1 or more to be used to purchase their favorite song or song(s). Once the songs are legally purchased on iTunes Music Store, they are burned once and compiled into an assortment of CDs. At the same time, students are also given the opportunity to design the album covers. Finally, the CDs are donated to local hospitals so that children staying in the hospital can listen to them.
Who does Music 4 Kidz Benefit? Music 4 Kidz helps children in the hospital. Currently, Music 4 Kidz supports:
- Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Phoenix, AZ
- Connecticut Children’s Hospital in Hartford, CT
- Baystate Children’s Hospital in Springfield, MA
- The Children’s Hospital at St. Francis in Tulsa, OK
*Music 4 Kidz donates to a children’s hospital designated by the donating school.
When and where does Music 4 Kidz occur? Music 4 Kidz donates year round and can be performed at any school across the country!
Why donate to Music 4 Kidz? Music 4 Kidz is not like any other community service project. Music 4 Kidz allows students to do more than donating money. Students can personalize their donations with their artistic talents along with their interest in music. Music 4 Kidz also helps students give to kids that are their age and live in their area. Additionally, Music 4 Kidz offers multiple volunteer opportunities that involve youth in community service while giving them the chance to explore their individual interests.
